I haven’t said anything about the election results because I couldn’t think what to say until now. For anyone who didn’t vote because you didn’t see how it would benefit you, the title of this post is for you. Voting might not mean you yourself get a seat at the table, but at least you have a shot at having someone who represents your interests there.
As for the Republican takeover, let’s see just see the Republicans lead, and if they represent the country’s best interests, not just certain segments. (F**k trickle-down economics. That only works for those already at the top; you have no right to tell a woman what to do with her body; everyone is entitled to affordable heath care; gun control measures do not mean all guns will be taken away, only that a schoolroom full of children might not get gunned down; immigration reform needs to happen; poor children still need to eat and be educated regardless of how you feel about them and their parents; and finally, a black man as president is not Armageddon).
