Good morning! I was asked by Roslyn Holcomb to participate in the Next Best Thing Blog Hop, whereby I answer questions about my next book to be published. Here you go:
What is the working title of your book? I struggled with trying to find the perfect title for a long time, finally deciding to go with (with the help of Roslyn) You are Mine.
Where did the idea come from for the book? The idea has been swimming around in my head for ages, but as the book is a conclusion to another book, that isn’t surprising. Many of the elements just evolved from things I’ve read about that I think someday might make a good story element. For instance, part of the book takes place inside of a Mexican cartel. I’d been reading about the final capture of the leader of a cartel and just thought one of my characters would likely want to hang out with that guy, and it went from there.
What genre does your book fall under? Many people would call it romantic suspense; some might liken it to a thriller. I will just say it has elements of both and call it good fiction.
Which actors would you choose to play your characters in a movie? As much as I would love to see this or any of my books on celluloid, I have no idea who would play these characters because I’m hopelessly out of touch with who’s who in Hollywood. The few stars I could name would not be appropriate.
What is a one sentence synopsis of your book? The time of reckoning has come for couple Caroline Singleton and Brian Keenan and criminal mastermind Alexander Brickman, and not everyone will get out alive (Dun, dun, duuun).
Will your book be self-published or represented by an agency/publisher? The book will be self-published.
How long did it take you to write the first draft of your manuscript? Hard to say as there have been far too many stops and starts.
What other books would you compare this story to within your genre? I wouldn’t.
Who or What inspired you to write this book? The book has been floating around in my own personal ether for quite a while, and was inspired by my first book, At Last, and fans of that work.
What else about your book might interest the reader? Here, finally, is the conclusion to Caroline’s and Brian’s story. I made sure, however, that isn’t necessary for you to have read the first in order to understand this one. The book will be out before Christmas.
