DEATH IN CHICAGO

With the exception of college and travel, I’ve lived in Chicago continuously for my entire life.  I’ve always loved the city and been proud to call it my home. But now, I’m feeling confused, angry and lost. The way children are being murdered in this city is simply indecent.  Most often these children are killed  by ruthless, lawless males (anywhere from 15-25) who have a self-destructive streak, but don’t give a damn who they take out when they’re trying to kill someone they perceive as an enemy. They just start shooting.

The little ones in the picture on the right?  Eight and seven-year old cousins Ariana and Tanaja who were simply outside jumping rope when terror decided to invade their neighborhood. A seventeen-year old idiot on a bike –yes, a f**cking bike–started shooting…over…around and THROUGH them in trying to shoot another boy.

The twin babies on top died from “elevated body temperature due to neglect.” They were 13-months old and each only weighed 13 pounds. Their 21-year old mother was taken into custody.  I know more will come out about this case in the days to come, but for now two more little innocents in the city of Chicago are dead. Rest in peace, Kimari and Kimora.

All of this happened over a span of a few days last week in Chicago.  To quote Marvin Gaye, “What’s goin’ on?”

  1. Darn Lisa! Why you gotta make a sista cry up in here?! This is so sad. I’m so sorry for the parents and families of the children and for your city.

  2. This is more than sad. This is a crying shame. I wish there was some way they could figure out who would be prone to gangbang and kill innocent children. Then they could round them up and get rid of them. It doesn’t matter how, just do it.

Love your books, by the way. I just never have the time to comment on blogs and stuff, but if I did, I would.
