Once More Unto the Breach Dear Friends

SilhouetteCreamTones_quill_touching_face Well, here I go again. I won’t go into detail, but this is the third (fourth?) time I’ve started a blog. This time I’m determined to make it work. To start us off, I’m posting the summary from my upcoming book below. I wanted to publish an excerpt, but can’t do that until the book is published. The book is called Do Me Right, and it comes out in January ’10 from www.loose-id.com.

Though I’m publishing the summary, this blog will not just be about my writing. I believe each post will reflect whatever has struck my fancy on any particular day.

Anyway, here’s the summary.  Enjoy, and thanks for stopping by!

DO ME RIGHT

Kendra Masters and Sloan Johnson have been together for four years and are planning their wedding. Ad exec Kendra has issues of trust because of her father’s abandonment, so she is forever—but subconsciously—waiting for Sloan to leave her. Though he loves her, Sloan is tired of dealing with his nutty, but lovable, fiancé’s pre- and mis-conceived notions (subconscious or otherwise).

They’re both unsure if marriage is practical. For in addition to wedding planning and Kendra’s neurosis, the couple has to deal with her saboteur of a mother, his libertine of a brother, and the fact that someone in Sloan’s law firm is stealing from a client’s trust fund.

Christ! Something has got to give!

Kendra seeks therapy, Sloan seeks a thief, and then Sloan…misses the wedding. For Kendra, it’s an unwelcome manifestation of her worst fear, and unaware that Sloan and his brother have been inescapably detained, she flees the church and him. That’s it for Sloan, and he washes his hands of her. If she wants the relationship, she’ll have to come to him.

Kendra soldiers on while Sloan continues to try to catch a thief.  Will the truth will out after tempers and bullets fly?

  1. Good morning Lisa,

I love this, well you know I love the book. Your readers will definitely be ready for this one in January. I also love your new blog. I love the tunnel. I’m going to try to find you on face book. The link brought me here but not to face book. I’ll get it.
